Gentle care for acne-prone or blemish-prone skin
With acne-prone skin, more aggressive intervention rarely works better. Harsh cleansers, strong degreasing products, and too many steps at once disrupt the skin barrier and stimulate sebum production as compensation. A gentle, consistent approach that supports the skin without overburdening it gives the skin more room to recover. In this collection, you’ll find light, non-comedogenic oils, absorbent clays, and gentle hydrolates that suit acne-prone or blemish-prone skin.
Which oil for acne: the best choices
Jojoba oil is the most recommended oil for acne-prone skin. Its wax ester composition closely resembles human sebum and the oil hardly clogs pores. It is absorbed quickly and leaves no heavy residue. Hemp seed oil has a high linoleic acid content, a light texture, and is non-comedogenic — a popular choice for oily skin.
During the recovery period after active acne, rosehip oil is used because of its high content of essential fatty acids and its light texture. Castor oil is sometimes used in diluted form for acne as part of an evening routine, always mixed with jojoba oil.
Clay masks for acne and blemishes
A clay mask once or twice a week absorbs excess sebum and cleanses the pores. Ghassoul clay is gentle and suitable for more regular use. Bentonite clay has stronger absorbent properties and suits very oily or blemish-prone skin. Mix with water or rose water and apply for five to ten minutes.
Hydrolates as a gentle in-between step
Bulgarian rose water works as a gentle, alcohol-free in-between step in a routine for acne-prone skin. It prepares the skin for the oil without irritating it.
