Care for combination skin – one routine for two zones
Combination skin combines a oilier T-zone (forehead, nose, chin) with drier or normal cheeks. The sebaceous glands are more concentrated in the T-zone, which makes that area more likely to shine or show blemishes, while the cheeks feel normal or dry. The key is a lightweight oil that won’t clog the T-zone yet still provides enough care for the cheeks. You can read more about this skin type in our blog about what is combination skin.
Which oil is best for combination skin?
Jojoba oil is the most logical choice for combination skin: light enough for the T-zone and nourishing enough for the drier areas. Hemp seed oil is a good alternative. For the cheeks, an extra drop of argan oil can be added in the evening for more nourishment. A weekly clay mask on the T-zone helps regulate excess sebum without over-drying the rest of the face.
- Jojoba oil – safe for the whole face, day and night
- Hemp seed oil – light, also suitable for the T-zone
- Argan oil – extra nourishment for drier cheek areas
- Bulgarian rose water – gentle toner for the whole face
