Bentonite Clay
Buy bentonite clay – 100% natural clay powder for skin and hair
Bentonite clay (also known as bentonite clay or bentonite clay) is a natural mineral clay of volcanic origin. It is mined mainly in the United States and has a characteristic light grey colour. Thanks to its strongly absorbent properties, bentonite clay is widely used as a clay mask for oily or blemish-prone skin and as a scalp scrub. Our bentonite clay powder is 100% natural, free from additives, and available as loose powder for use in homemade masks.
What is bentonite clay used for?
Bentonite clay is used externally in skincare as a clay mask on the face, as a scalp scrub, or as a bath additive. The clay has a strong absorbent capacity and attracts excess sebum and product residue through adsorption – the binding of substances to the clay surface. This makes it particularly suitable for oily, blemish-prone, or sebum-rich skin. Read more about how it works in our blog about clay for acne and blemishes.
Bentonite clay mask for the face
Mix bentonite clay powder with water or rose water into a smooth paste. Apply to the face, leave on for five to ten minutes, and rinse off with lukewarm water. Do not use more than once or twice a week to prevent the skin from drying out. After the mask, always finish with a light hydrating oil. Read more tips in our blog about clay scrub and use.
Bentonite clay for the scalp
As a scalp scrub, bentonite clay is applied to the wet scalp before washing, left on for a few minutes, and then rinsed out. It helps remove excess sebum and product residue (build-up) and is well suited to an oily or quickly greasy scalp. Read more about scalp cleansing in our blog about product build-up and scalp care.
Bentonite clay or ghassoul clay: which should you choose?
Bentonite clay is stronger and more suitable for a very oily or blemish-prone skin. Ghassoul clay is milder and suitable for a wider range of skin types, including sensitive skin. Pink clay is the mildest of the three. Not sure which type of clay suits you best? View our full overview in our blog about clay for blemishes.
