The smell of refined shea butter is often perceived as earthy or nutty, sometimes even musty. Don't like the smell of unrefined shea butter? No problem! We now have a refined version. This gives you all the perks of (unrefined) shea butter, but without the color and (unpleasant) smell. This shea butter is a wonderful butter, ideal for making your own whipped butter, for example. Or just for nourishing your skin during your daily skincare routine.

Although this butter is refined, it is still an excellent butter. Refined shea butter is often preferred as a base for producing lotions and creams, not only because of its consistent color (white) and absence of fragrance, but also because refined shea butter is a more stable butter.

Refined in the Netherlands

The shea butter processing process starts at the source in Ghana, just like with the unrefined variety. The raw shea butter is refined in the Netherlands. Refining takes place at ZOR, Europe's No. 1 contract refinery. No chemicals are used in this process. After refining, the butter is white and odorless.

Traditionally handmade

We get our shea butter directly from Ghana. For thousands of years, women have extracted shea butter from the nuts of shea trees (Vitellaria paradoxa) that grow in the savannah of Africa. The trees do not grow on plantations, the nuts are picked wild. This traditional production method results in the soothing, moisturizing butter that treats and repairs the skin like no other product. Each note is selected individually, and the production is done with care. We are proud to sell the butter because it generates important income for the people of Northern Ghana.

Use

Heat a little of the butter between your palms and spread the butter in a thin layer on dry, chapped skin and/or apply it to your hair at the ends. Use the butter as often as you like. Preferably apply the butter to the skin after showering to optimize spreadability.
